We are first time cruisers and don't know how we will be affected by the motion. Does the medical center onboard Magic have seasick prevention meds (what is the cost) for adults and children or should I bring my own?

    Hi, Vicki!

Congratulations on your first cruise aboard the Disney Magic -- you really know how to start off in style!

As far as motion sickness, I would consult with your family's physician. I have never had any of my family suffer from this -- but I certainly wouldn't want to have to deal with it on vacation. You will see several guests on board with the prescription, time-released patch located behind their ears, and of course, some will bring an over-the-counter, motion-sickness medication with them. I have also heard that the accupressure bands called PsiBands work really well, and you can find these online.

Motion sickness may be treated by the on-board physician and/or nurse who are on call 24 hours a day or at the Health Center which is located on Deck 1. However, you will be charged for their services. Plus, I have been told that motion sickness is better prevented than treated. You are definitely better off having a plan of action before you board and bringing any medications with you.

I hope this helps, and please let me know if I can answer any more questions for you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.

    Bon voyage,

    Andi
