Hello! First time cruisers. We have dinner reservations at Remy but unsure what to do with our kids’ meal. Do we take them to dinner before/after our reservation? Are kids club available late so they are occupied and supervised? Thank you!

A big hello and welcome to you, Evelyn! Thanks for sailing to us with your question as you prepare for your very first Disney Cruise! I'm excited just thinking about you boarding the ship and the magical memories that are in store for you and your family.

You made a great choice by booking a special dinner reservation at Remy. Get ready for one memorable and delicious meal! I'm happy to share that you have several options when it comes to feeding your kids. As a dining experience at Remy can take around three hours, I'd recommend that you feed your children before you head off to your adult-exclusive reservation.

You are welcome to order complimentary room service, stop by the quick-service food options near the pool, or even take your children to your dinner seating if the timing works out. If your children are old enough (or you judge them to be mature enough), they are even welcome to dine in the main dining restaurant without you. My tweens actually love it when my husband and I let them dine without us. They feel so grown up! They also might be encouraged to order two desserts because mom isn't there!

The youth spaces onboard are open late (often till midnight) to accommodate adults and kids who like to be out and about on the ship in the late evening. There are fun activities offered till closing time and I know there will be plenty for your children to do. You can keep track of what's happening onboard once you are on the ship by reviewing the Daily Activity Schedule within the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app

As this is your first cruise, I'd love to recommend that you swing by the youth spaces onboard on the first afternoon of your sailing. There will be Open House times then (and sprinkled throughout the sailing) when the whole family is welcome to play and enjoy these immersive spaces that are usually off-limits to adults. It's a great opportunity for them to become comfortable with the counselors and the activities before your special dinner reservation.

Evelyn, have an incredible time on your Disney Cruise! Please feel welcome to return to planDisney if you have additional questions. My panelist pals and I are here and happy to help.
