Wonderful to hear that you are going on your very first magical cruise, Michelle! On top of that, you get to go on the last
Star Wars themed sailing - cool! You and your crew will have loads of activities to participate in as a family. You will quickly be introduced to the deck parties -- as you prepare to sail away, you'll likely be altogether on the top decks enjoying the views and the festive atmosphere.
On embarkation day, I suggest taking your son over to the
Oceaneer Club and Lab to check it out. They will have an open house, and everyone in your family can see the awesome themed spaces. You can also speak to one of the youth counselors while there. They can give you a glimpse of the different events and activities that kids can enjoy while at the club. My son at this age made lots of friends at the kids club, and he enjoyed spending time there. The Daily Personal Navigator will be delivered to your stateroom every night. Check out the schedule for the following day, since it will also include activities that are planned at the kids clubs.
As a family, it's wonderful to watch the evening Broadway-style musicals and shows before or after dinner. Families also enjoy the different shows and family fun nights at the lounges - they have karaoke nights, family dance parties, game shows and more. Don't be surprised if your son peels away from the adults though - he may want to head over to the Oceaneer Club instead :-). There's also family pool time and having everyone take turns on the AquaDuck. Fun!
Prepare your Pirate & Star Wars themed outfits too! Happy planning!
