Great question, Mayra...
Getting everything ready for embarkation day early is definitely the way to go. Once you are able to log into the
My OnLine CheckIn system, try to complete all the pre-cruise information early. This will allow you to get your assigned Port Check In time at the end of the process.
I think, the most convenient way to travel from your Disney Resort to Port Canaveral is via the Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation. You are welcome to explore other ways of transportation from your Disney Resort to the Port, just keep in mind that it takes about an hour or so for travel. My family likes the convenience of staying at a Disney resort for the pre-cruise night, and using DCL Ground Transportation. Your check-in luggage will be picked up early on embarkation morning, and all you have to bring with you, are your travel documents and a day bag. You'll board a very comfortable motor coach and the kids can be entertained watching Disney shows on the TV. You'll also be dropped off right in front of the entrance to the port check-in area... with no luggage in tow - you can go straight upstairs to the check-in counters. Your check-in luggage will be delivered to your stateroom later in the afternoon.
You can add this additional service to your cruise reservation by calling the DCL Travel Desk at 1-800-951-3532. There is a cost of $35 each way ($70 round trip) for each guest traveling. I know that it's an additional expense, but the convenience makes it so much more worthwhile for me and my family.
I hope this helps, Mayra. Let us know if you need additional help as you plan your first magical cruise.
Have a pixie dusted day,
~ Dolly
