Ahoy there, Justin! Thanks for sailing back to planDisney with more questions. My pals and I are happy to help!
It's wonderful to hear that you will be sailing on your first Disney Cruise! I can't wait for you to experience the excitement of Disney
entertainment and service at sea. It's going to be an incredible vacation. If you will be sailing on a closed-loop itinerary from Fort Lauderdale and are a U.S. Citizen, you may use an original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate AND Government-issued photo ID for your travel documentation. You can read more about
proper travel documentation at this link.
I'd love to share some helpful information as you prepare for your first cruise! I recommend that you download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app if you haven't done so already. The app will provide a character-filled countdown and the opportunity to explore more about the ship on which you will sail. 75 days before your sailing, you will be able to reserve Port Adventures, select onboard activities, spa treatments, and adult-exclusive dining reservations. You can
make these reservations on the Disney Cruise Line website or the Navigator app.
When it is 30 days prior to your cruise, you can begin the online check-in process. You will need your travel information, credit card number, and travel documentation handy. You will also need to submit JPEG files of your travel documentation and security photos for each travel party member. The security photos should be taken from the shoulders up against a blank background. Please remove hats and glasses so you can provide a clear photo. At the end of your check-in process, you will be able to select a Port Arrival Time. This will be the time that you will be asked to arrive at the port for your vacation to begin. You'll see that your check-in status will be listed as "pending review". This is normal as all travel documentation is reviewed by Cast Members prior to your arrival.
Disney Cruise Line provides a handy
packing checklist for reference as you stuff your suitcases for adventure! Please remember to keep your travel documentation, valuables, and medication in your carry-on luggage. You will need to present your birth certificate at the port before stepping on the ship.
Justin, I hope you have the best cruise ever! If you have more questions, please sail our way again!
Happy Planning,
Adrianna
