Hello! First time on a cruise, only 3 nights. Considering trying to get a Palo reservation. Our 2nd night is the pirate party at 9:45. Would it be realistic to try and have dinner before the show? We have first dining for other meals, does that matter?

    Ahoy, Theresa!

First time on the Disney Cruise, and I have a feeling that it won't be your last. You and your buccaneers are in for such swashbuckling fun with Captain Mickey and his crew - it will be difficult to go home. My family and I were just on the Disney Dream over a week ago, and we had such a blast. If you are dining on the first seating, that means you'll be enjoying the Broadway-style theater productions afterwards. Try not to miss any of that. They are spectacular. You'll find yourself humming to the tune of the songs when you get home -- yup, withdrawal symptoms!

I highly encourage dining at Palo while on your voyage - you will be glad you did. The gastronomic experience that Palo allows guests to enjoy is difficult to equal anywhere. Definitely top notch food quality and the service is impeccable. You can check for early available dinner reservations at Palo on the 2nd night, and you'll want to allow at least 2 hours for dinner. Art and perfection take time, and you won't be rushed at all while at Palo. Maybe you can try and get the earliest table reservation, so that you don't miss the 8:30pm show at the Walt Disney Theater that evening. Right after that, you can head up to the deck to join the deck party. It's non-stop fun that evening, since the Pirates IN the Caribbean Party is topped off with an awesome Fireworks display. Only the Disney Cruise can fire up the night out on the high seas! I love Captain Mickey, but Captain Jack Sparrow is awesome too!

As an alternate, you might want to check out dining at Palo on your last evening. It might be more relaxed if you dine around 7:30pm, so that you can watch the early show at 6pm first, and then take as much time as you want at Palo that evening. My tween and teen enjoyed dining by themselves on our date night, and the dining team took really good care of them.

No matter which night you decide to dine at Palo, enjoy yourselves and have a splendid time!
    Bon voyage!
