Hello Lolita,
I am hoping to make my first solo trip to Disney this fall too and can not wait! I know it will be such a different experience traveling without the family. But I also know there is so much to gain as well!
Going solo means being able to use the single rider lines for attractions like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Test Track. Score!
And being by yourself means almost always being able to eat at your favorite restaurants without a reservation. Now, if you know there is a place at which you have to dine, I say book ahead! But if you want to be a free spirit, you can be! Many restaurants have dining options in their lounge areas. Imagine watching Wishes from the Observation Deck at the Contemporary Resort after visiting the lounge at
California Grill. Or after a day at Hollywood Studios, check out the lounge at the
50's Prime Time Cafe. It's easier to find a seat for one!
As for suggestions: my first recommendation is to pick up a complimentary celebration button at Guest Services when you arrive. It lets everyone know it's your BIG day! You never know what magic someone may be able to share.
If you like to indulge, I would suggest pampering yourself with a
spa treatment. When you're by yourself, there will be no one rushing you through the tranquility!
I won't be able to try it this time but one day I want to take part in a
special Disney tour. And by going solo, you don't have to worry about the added costs of participants.
Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip. And here's wishing you a magical birthday!
