First time going ... booked full service campground late Aug. Will our truck fit on a site (requested 1700, 1600) with a 26ft trailer, and are we allowed to drive our truck from our site to other parks? or do vehicles have to stay in outpost parking lot.

Hi Jennifer!  I hope you will love Fort Wilderness as much as we do! We have used the 600 and 700 loops as we have friends who we like to be near but all loops offer some wonderful amenities. The 1600 and 1700 loops are set close enough to the pool but in a beautiful secluded location. They are considered Full hookups but they do have internet and cable hookups and just considered Full because of the more secluded location.

Your truck should be able to fit on the sites and you can certainly move it to go to the parks. You might find it just as easy to use the Disney bus transportation and leave the truck parked at your site but it can be a game day decision for you. We like to take the boat to the Magic Kingdom from Fort Wilderness as it drops you off immediately at the entrance to the park. If you drive you have to take either a monorail or a ferry to reach the park making it a longer trek.

The Fort resort is full of fun things for you to do and enjoy. I love the early morning walks where I run into deer, armadillo, bunnies, and turkeys! The smell of the pine trees is so relaxing and the campfires at night bring back some awesome memories for me as a child. I know you will return as a camper to Disney. It is truly one of the best locations we have ever seen and hold everything else up to their standards. The bath houses are immaculate and the grounds pristine. If you find a problem you just call the front outpost and they send someone immediately to fix it.

If you have any questions at all about Fort Wilderness please check back with me as I love talking about this resort!
