This is our first time back in 16 years. A lot has changed. We have reservations for all our dining made and for the 3 experiences we wanted. Any recommendations for new things to visit since our last time? 3 generation family of 5. Going with a 7 y.o.

Matthew! We’ve got 16 years of magic to catch you up on! As Peter Pan would say, “Herrree weee goooo!”

Let’s start at Magic Kingdom Park where Fantasyland underwent a huge expansion since your last visit! You’ll definitely want to experience Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid. Additionally, you mentioned having already booked your dining reservations. I don’t know if that includes Be Our Guest Restaurant, but it has become a favorite for my family and is extremely popular with Guests! Again, all these experiences can be found in the expanded Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park!

Now, let’s punch it into lightspeed and journey on over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Here you will find Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! This entire land is themed for the Star Wars fan! There are two attractions – Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance! And, adjacent to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is Toy Story Land! This land is themed as “Andy’s” backyard from Toy Story. Take a look around and you’ll begin to notice that you’ve been shrunk to the size of a toy! Here you will find three additional attractions – Toy Story Mania!, Slinky Dog Dash (so fun), and Alien Swirling Saucers! All of these experiences will be amazing for your group! And, climb aboard the Runamuck Railroad with Engineer Goofy over at Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Your seven-year-old (and your whole group) will love this journey into the world of animation!

At EPCOT, I highly recommend that you experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! This has become my family’s favorite new attraction at EPCOT (if not all the Walt Disney World Resort)! You’ll also want to check out Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure which will be perfect for your little Mouseketeer!

Let’s make our trek over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom where you will want to journey to Pandora – The World of Avatar! A must-do attraction is Flight of Passage! Here you will ride on the back of a banshee and have an experience like no other! My sons insist (and my wife and I agree) that we do this ride on every visit!

Finally, Matthew, over at Disney Springs there is an awe-inspiring Cirque du Soleil show entitled Drawn to Life! This stunning visual takes Guests into the world of Disney animation through the eyes of Disney artists, Imagineers, and through the power of the human body to perform stunts that bring animation to life like never before!

Matthew, while there are countless other additions, I tried to sum up my favorites that have been added over the past 16 years! Also, I linked each park in this answer. Click on each park link to find the attractions I suggested for you. You should see height requirements for each attraction to make sure your seven-year-old will be able to participate. I hope this helps with your visit! Have a magical vacation!

    Happy Planning!
