Hi there, first time asker here. We're going on the dream on Sun. feb 13th/2011...soooo excited. Just wondering how far ahead of time cruisers line up to board the ship. We are to set sail at 3:30pm.

    Hi, Mike!

Welcome to the Disney Moms Panel, and thanks for asking me a Disney Cruise Line question! Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the Disney Dream -- surprises and enchantment await you in ways you've only imagined!

I always suggest to arrive at the Port Canaveral Terminal as early as possible -- check-in begins at 10:30 a.m.  Usually, the earlier you check in; the earlier you are allowed to board. And of course, the sooner you board; the sooner your vacation begins!

Boarding typically begins around 1 p.m., but I have been of the first groups to begin boarding as early as noon. It really depends on the cruise guests who disembark the day you embark and how quickly the crew can ready the ship for your sailing. Some ship services may not be available until after 1 p.m.

There is plenty of fun to be had in the terminal as you wait to board. Several characters usually make appearances in the terminal. There's a place to grab some coffee and a snack, and there are Disney cartoons and soft furniture for relaxing before boarding. Plus, the atmosphere is electric as you peer at your ship through the windows!

I hope this helps you plan and readies you for the adventure that will soon be yours. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
