First time Annual Passholder! I am planning to head to the parks to activate my pass in August- since it’ll be my first time I won’t have the card to show for free parking, will they still honor free parking at the lot if I show them my AP on my app?

    Hi Colleen,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. Welcome to the Annual Passholder club - you must be so excited!

We had just updated our Annual Passes prior to our last visit to Walt Disney World Resort and we also chose to rent a car that day. I’m pleased to report that, even though we hadn’t activated our Annual Passes yet, we were able to head straight to the Theme Park of our choice and enjoy complimentary standard self-parking, one of my favourite perks associated with an Annual Pass.

Even though it won’t be activated yet, make sure that your Annual Pass is properly linked to your My Disney Experience account (if you purchase it online, it will ask you to assign it to someone right off the bat). Once you arrive at the entrance plaza, hand your active MagicBand to the Cast Member and they’ll be able to scan and see that you have a non-activated Annual Pass linked to your account. I would recommend having your purchase confirmation email on hand too, just in case. Once your pass’ purchase is confirmed, you should be good to go!

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
