    When I first started researching for trip in the fall there seem to have been a larger selection of the character magic bands. The ones that my family had liked are no longer shown. Do they rotate them or retire some after so long?

    Availability of retail items are constantly changing.  It could be that the specific MagicBands you were looking at are currently sold out or retired.  With the new MagicBand 2, the older styles are getting phased out to make room for new designs.  The best place I have found to look for merchandise availability is on the Shop Disney Parks mobile app.  It will show you all of the MagicBands available AND where in Walt Disney World you can find them for purchase.  Most can be purchased from the app and sent right to your home if you'd like to have them before your vacation.  A smaller selection can also be found on the Disney Store online.
