First runDisney race will be Wine and Dine 10k (me) and half (hubby). What time can we expect to start (again first races for us)? Trying to plan app. times to take kids to meet at finish line and what time we will be able to head to the parks after. TY!

    Hi Melanie!

Welcome to the runDisney family! I have a feeling that these will be the first of many runDisney events for you and your husband.

Normally, the runDisney 10K and Half Marathon races begin around 5:30 a.m. The schedule hasn't been finalized for the 2018 Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend just yet, but I would expect them to start around the same as in the past. There is a break of a few minutes in between corral starts, with the last corral beginning about 45 minutes after the first.

If you're staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts, you will be able to use the special runDisney buses (for runners and spectators) to get to the finish line for both events. There will be a bus schedule in the official event guide that comes out a couple of weeks prior to the race weekend to help you plan travel times.

The Walt Disney World theme parks will operate on a normal schedule during race weekends. Generally, I can be in the park by opening time after the 10K, but usually allow myself a little rest time after a half marathon and will arrive between 11 and 12, depending on my breakfast schedule.

Registration for Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend is scheduled to open at noon ET, March 13, 2018.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
