Hi! This is going to be our first real trip to Disney, and I am wondering if I need to book my quick service meals ahead of time... Or do we just wing it according to where we'll be? This will happen during the lst week of September... Thanks!

    Hello Christine,

I am so excited for you and your family making your first Walt Disney World vacation. You will make so many lasting memories and have the time of your lives. I am also glad to hear that you are thinking about your dining. It is one of my favorite things to do at the parks. We always make a point of trying a new place each time.

In terms of quick service, those establishments do not require reservations. Think of them as counter service where you will walk up to a register, order, and then retrieve your meal a few minutes later from a window or counter. So, these do not need to be set in stone. However, knowing what is around in terms of food and dining at any given time is always handy. I would suggest downloading the free My Disney Experience mobile app to your smart phone. This amazing tool is extremely handy with its interactive maps, dining links, character meet and greet locations, and up to the minute wait times for attractions. By using this app, whenever you get hungry, you can open it and see where you are in the park and figure out the closest quick service locations and even browse menus before making a decision.

I hope you have an amazing time. It will be here before you can even say, "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"

    Bon Appetit
