First off, thanks for all your great advice. How long I should anticipate the time it takes from arrival into MCO airport to actually getting into a park? I'll be arriving @ 10:06 on 9/21, renting a car, and staying at POFQ. Which park do you suggest?

    Hi Kristen,

The drive from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World is generally about twenty-five to thirty minutes.  Renting a car, however, can vary depending upon how congested your rental car carrier is when you arrive, and whether you have to pick up baggage.  I have had some trips, where there was virtually no line at the rental car counter and my car was waiting for me.  I pulled into my Disney resort about an hour after landing ( I did not check luggage and didn't have to wait at baggage claim).  However, I have also had trips where the line at the counter was sizeable and I waited over thirty minutes before proceeding across the street from the terminal to the area where the rentals are held.  If you use online check-in, this will expedite your arrival process at Port Orleans, and you can be on your way to the park of your choice more quickly.

As for which park to visit first, I'm a huge fan of heading to the Magic Kingdom to officially "kick off" any Disney trip!

    Have a wonderful vacation!
