Hi all! First night not going into parks. Dinner at Artist Point @ 5:30 and over to Ft. Wilderness for a sleigh ride @ 8. What is the best way to get from dinner to Ft. Wilderness? We can take our own car as well. Thank you!!

    Hi Keirsten!

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your great question!

I sure wish my name was spelled the same way as yours because then people wouldn't likely mispronounce it as often!

You have two easy options to get yourselves over to Fort Wilderness for your evening sleigh ride.
First, absolutely, you can go ahead and take your own vehicle if you wish. As you exit the lobby to head to your car, simply ask a Cast Member to point out the directions for you. It's a very easy, short drive.

Your alternate option, and my favourite way, is to take the boat launch from the Wilderness Lodge Dock over to the Fort Wilderness dock! It's a short and pleasant boat ride just around the perimeter of Bay Lake. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes and boats depart every 15-20 minutes. On the dock, you'll want to get in the line on your right hand side to board a 'blue flag' boat bound for Fort Wilderness.

Please write me back any time if I may assist you further with your planning Keirsten!
I'd love to hear from you again!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
