First of all, Love this forum. Great advice!!!. Our family is traveling to WD in Sept for 1st time. Are there any special events going on that we can check out?

    You bet there are!

The Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom is a spook-tacular after hours party suitable for the whole family.  My family makes it a point to attend every chance we get.  If you go, you're welcome to attend in costume (yes, even mom and dad!) and stop by the trick-or-treat stations that are set up around the park.  Many of the most popular attractions will be in operation during the party and because admission is limited, the wait times are typically quite short.  These parties also feature a special Halloween themed parade and fireworks show that, if you ask this mom, are must sees!  I highly recommend a visit if you can fit it into your itinerary.

If you will be attending at the end of the month, you might be interested in the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.  This event features a special concert series, special dining events, wine tasting, and kiosks set up around the World Showcase where you can sample regional delights from all over the world.  These are just some of the highlights available to guests during the Festival though; for a full listing click the link above to find out just how much is offered.

Nights of Joy  takes place September 5th and 6th at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Here you'll have the opportunity to enjoy special concerts by Contemporary Christian musicians as they celebrate faith in song.

Hopefully one of these special events will be of interest to your family.  Have a great trip!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
