Hi Courtney! Making FIRST (VERY last minute) vacation to DLR this month! Veteran WDW family. What are the differences? What should we not miss? Touring plan? Where should we book dining reservations? Will be there from Dec 20-26. Thank you!

    Hi, Amanda!

You’ll love the history and charm of The Happiest Place on Earth. It’s not every day you get to walk in the footsteps of Walt Disney himself! One of the many wonderful things about the Disneyland Resort is how close the theme parks, resort hotels and Downtown Disney District are to one another. You can easily hop back and forth between the two parks—which are directly across from each other—throughout the day.

Don't miss the Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday attractions or A Christmas Fantasy Parade. The "Believe...In Holiday Magic" fireworks show, complete with snowfall, is a must-see that’s scheduled each night.

Storytellers Café at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has a delicious character buffet breakfast with visits from your favorite Disney critters. Another great choice is Café Orleans at Disneyland Park. I like the Monte Cristo sandwich and Mint Julep (the signature drink of New Orleans Square) along with Mickey-shaped beignets for dessert! Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure Park is my favorite fine-dining restaurant because of the glamorous 1930s-Hollywood atmosphere and top-notch cuisine. It’s on the second floor of the park’s reproduction of Carthay Circle Theatre, where Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered, so the much of the restaurant’s décor pays homage to the film and Walt himself. You may want to book a World of Color dining package so you can enjoy a special meal followed by a viewing of the popular show—which has been reimagined especially for the holidays—from a prime reserved location.

I hope this helps, Amanda, and that you enjoy a perfectly pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
