Our first family vacation with a 4 year old is in April. we will be on property 3 full days (not counting travel days) and planning to get 2 days of park hopper & a rest day in between. can we add a 3rd day once we are there if he seems up to it?

Hello Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney! I'm super excited to help you plan your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I've been taking my 4-year-old to Disney World since he was 8 months old, so I have some great tips to share with you.

First, I just wanted to say that your schedule looks terrific. It's great that you're prioritizing your child's needs and giving yourself plenty of time to relax and explore. Adding more days to your vacation is totally doable, as long as tickets are available and the theme parks aren't full on your chosen dates. I had a similar situation on my last trip, and I was able to add an extra day at Magic Kingdom by visiting Guest Relations and paying for it on the spot. You can also buy tickets at the park ticket booths, talk to a concierge at your Disney Resort, or purchase them through the My Disney Experience app.

If you're using a MagicBand or MagicBand+ and purchase a ticket online, all you need to do is link the ticket to your account and then head straight to the park's entrance on your extra day.

Before we wrap up, let's go over a few helpful tips that can really make a difference during our trips with the kids. First off, make sure to plan for a nice long break in the afternoon for a nap, even if your little one doesn't nap anymore. The heat, humidity, and excitement can really wear them out. You can take this break in the parks or head back to our Disney Resort room. Also, don't forget to bring a refillable water bottle and ask for water and ice at any dining spot. Lastly, add some Enchanting Extra Collections experiences to your day. These are a fantastic way to take a break from waiting in lines and enjoy some special family time doing something unique.

Oh, and our family couldn't live without a Lightning Lane Multi-Pass. However, the decision to get one for your family is very personal, as everyone experiences Disney differently and at their own pace. My best advice is to understand beforehand what the expectations are for attractions each day and then decide if it's worth it.

I hope this helps, Jennifer. Please remember that we're here for you. If you have any other questions at any time, we are always happy and ready to help out a marvelous friend like you.

    Cheers,
    Nilson
