First family vacation! Just started planning...thinking we may stay at the Polynesian in mid-October this year. 3 kids (9,6,3-girl, boy, girl) What are your suggestions for a fun-filled family vacation??

    Hi Kristy!

Thank you so much for your question!  First of all, I LOVE your choice of the Polynesian.  LOVE!  The convenience of a monorail resort can't be beat, especially since you'll likely be spending a good portion of time at Magic Kingdom with your crew!

    1.  Research, research, research!  That's my biggest tip!  You've ended up here, which is a great first step!  Make sure you order a free Walt Disney World Vacation Planning DVD, and watch it with the little ones, and take notes, either on paper or mentally about which attractions/experiences get them most excited!  Then you can see which parks your children would like to spend the most time at!

    2.  Must-see characters?  Must-do experiences?  Make sure you write these down as well, and put them on the top of your list for each park you'll be visiting, this way you won't forget!

    3.  Plan some down time.  Kids, even older children, need that time most days to decompress and just relax.  Many kids go through what I call the 'pixie-dust effect.'  Simply put, it's the culmination of overestimation and lack of rest, and most of the time, it's not pretty.  Be flexible enough to listen to your children so that you all can have a good time!

    4.  Come back and visit me if you need any help!

    Have a magical vacation!
