We are going on our first family vacation to Disney World in January, but not staying on Park property. Can you purchase a dining plan when not staying on site?

    Hello, Heather!

Congratulations on your first family vacation! The Disney Dining Plan is exclusively offered to Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. The Dining Plan certainly makes it easier to budget food expenses. One way I like to keep to my food budget is to take a look at the menus of the restaurants where we plan to dine to get an idea of how much we are likely to spend. Then, I purchase that amount in Disney Gift Cards prior to our arrival. Those gift cards can be used as payment at any Disney owned and operated venues that accept credit cards. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have other questions as you plan your magical first visit!
