This is our first family trip to Disney with our DS8. We are visiting Oct 21-26 (hoping to visit MK our arrival day.) Does MK close early that day? The HP schedule shows unavailable for tix. Can you also suggest what days to visit MK, AK, and Epcot? Thx!

Hello fellow Hoosier! First Disney trips are so exciting, and your family's vacation is just around the river bend! I just checked the schedule and it looks like the Magic Kingdom park does not close early for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on October 21st, but it does close at 7 p.m. for the Halloween Party on October 22nd, 23rd, and 25th. If it is within your budget, I highly recommend attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. If it is not in your plans, I still suggest going to the Magic Kingdom during the day of a scheduled Halloween Party, because since the park closes for the special event at 7 p.m., many people will choose a longer day to spend at the park, making it less crowded throughout the day on Halloween Party nights.

When planning out which park I'd like to be in on what days I always check the crowd calendars on EasyWDW.com. These calendars have strategically used crowd level information and trends to predict not only the crowd levels, but also which parks will be best for touring on which days. After looking over the crowd calendar and comparing it with your trip dates, if I were you I would do the following:

    Oct 21st: Magic Kingdom
    Oct 22nd: Disney's Hollywood Studios
    Oct 23rd: Magic Kingdom
    Oct 24th: Disney's Animal Kingdom
    Oct 25th: Magic Kingdom
    Oct 26th: Epcot

This has you going to the Magic Kingdom every other day, which might not follow along with your interests, but I always end up at Magic Kingdom more than any other park. In following along with EasyWDW's crowd calendars, each park that I have chosen is a 'recommended' park for lower crowd levels with the exception of Oct 21st. You said you wanted to visit Magic Kingdom on arrival day, so that is why I placed it there.

I hope this helps, and if you need anything else please let us know. Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation! See ya real soon!
