We’ll be on our first ever cruise in early 2027. I’m trying to add ground transportation through both the app and the DCL website but I keep getting error messages. We’re staying at WDW before & after. Is it too early to book? Or do I need to call?

    Hiya, Lindsay,

It's great to hear from you again. Your plans have progressed well since our previous exchange.

But, "oh, bother." You've run into a sticky situation. I'm sorry to hear that booking Disney Cruise Line ground transfers hasn't gone according to plan. Here are some things I have experienced and actions that I have taken to address them.

    • My web browser may be out-of-date or incompatible. To fix this, I have updated to the latest version of my device's operating system as well as updated my browser version. Sometimes, I've found it helpful to use a different browser or even open a new "private" window.
    • My version of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app may be old. Checking in with my device's application store usually takes care of that.
    • I forgot I booked through a third-party provider. If I book my Disney cruise with an authorized Disney vacation planner, there are certain modifications that only they can do for me, including adding on Disney-provided ground transfers. This happened to me recently when I booked a cruise through the Disney Vacation Club instead of directly through Disney Cruise Line.
    • My payment method may have an issue. Sometimes the payment information stored with my account needs to be updated. Or certain transactions between my financial provider and a vendor's financial provider may be incompatible. This may happen more frequently with international transactions. To work around this, I use a different payment card, possibly even a Disney Gift Card.
    • I booked a cruise from a departure port that is too far from my Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Yup. This has happened to me three times. I simply love the ships that sail out of Fort Lauderdale and their itineraries. However, Disney currently only offers transportation from a few local hotels to the Port Everglades cruise terminal. So I've had to make my own transportation arrangements from Disney World.

I don't know whether any of those situations might apply to you at this time. But because I suspect it's more likely than not that early 2027 Disney cruise itineraries should have ground transfer availability from eligible Disney World hotels to Port Canaveral, it is worth trying one of those potential fixes or calling the Disney Cruise Line's toll-free number. I'm confident the great Cast Members on the Disney Cruise Line phone line will be very helpful to you.

Tony's Tip: Before I go, I have a final tip. Keep an eye on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for updates and information related to your transportation back to Disney World. You should find information a day or so before your ship returns to Port Canaveral. You may also ask at the Guest Services Desk.

I hope you have a magical time, Lindsay!
    ~Tony
