Hi, We are going on our first Disney vacation in October with friends, and I'm having a hard time booking character meals. They are all already booked. Is there a way to get on a reserve list incase something opens up?

    Hello, Michelle,

I'm so sorry to hear that you aren't able to book the character meals you are hoping for, but I wouldn't give up.  Just last week while at Walt Disney World, we decided to see if we could get a reservation for Be Our Guest Restaurant for the next day.  When I first checked, nothing was available.  When I checked a few hours later, I got our reservation!

While there aren't waiting lists, you may also want to call Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE to see how they can help, too.  Sometimes they can offer alternative times and dates.  Also, if you are trying to making dining reservations online, have you filtered your search to just look for Character Dining? You can do this by pulling down the menu under Dining Experience. Then, just enter the date and time (I'd recommend doing a search for breakfast/lunch/dinner instead of a specific time) and click on Find a Table. While you may not find your first choice, it will at least help you to see some alternative character dining options.

I also wanted to share with you an independent website called Disney Dining Scout that will do the searching for you.  There is a small fee, but one that might be worthwhile for you.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!  -Kara
