    First Disney vacation for 22 July, made a reservation at Shades of Green? Does anyone have feedback on staying there vs. a Disney Resort? My 6 yr old wants to go to the beach does Shades of Green or other hotels have a made man beach?

    Hi Reyna!

    Shades of Green is a nice hotel.  I've stayed there in the past, though it has been several years.  Generally speaking, the rooms are large compared to most Disney resorts and the restaurants are less expensive, though more typical of what I would find around my home, than Table Service restaurants in Disney owned and operated hotels.

    Shades of Green is within walking distance of Disney's Polynesian Resort.  It has a great beach, though obviously no waves, and you can't go swimming in the lake.  Still, it's a great place to relax and you can even watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian.
