    This is our first Disney Vacation! When do the Christmas decorations get put up in Nov? Is it crowded that first week? What do people use to carry bags? We have 4 children who don't use strollers. Thank you!!!!

    Hi Lauren!

    My favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World is during the holiday season.  I just love all of the decorations around the resorts and parks.  It doesn't get any better than that!

    Decorations start going up as soon as Halloween is over.  It usually takes about a week for everything to be fully up.  The first night of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is November 7th, so you can expect to see everything in early November.

    If you don't have a stroller to hang bags from, I highly suggest a roomy backpack.  Totes or shoulder bags can get tiresome to carry, so a good backpack is perfect for all day park wear.  There are lockers located in every park, but they are in the front and not very convenient to get to if you're in the back of a park and need something from it.  Try to pack light, but still have enough of everything you'll need.  You are allowed to bring in food and drinks as long as they are not in glass containers.
