Hi there we are going on our first Disney vacation in August and we wondered if Bert makes an appearance with mary poppins as my son is a huge fan. Also how long does mary spend with the children @ the 1900 park fare breakfast Thanks

    Hi Tracey!

Congratulations on taking your 1st Walt Disney World vacation in August!  Mary Poppins was one of my favorite movies growing up and still is today, 1900 Park Fare's breakfast is a great way to get to meet Mary.  Bert rarely seen out and about these days except for special occasions such as the case when Disney was celebrating Valentine's week this year.  One place where you will be able to catch a glimpse of Bert and Mary together is The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios, where the chimney sweep scene is recreated.  I will warn you that sections of this ride also depict scenes from Alien and parts of Indiana Jones that may be a little scary for smaller children.

The breakfast at 1900 Park Fare features some really great characters such as Mary Poppins, Pooh, Tigger, Alice and the Mad Hatter.  The character interaction can sometimes be a hit or miss, this all varies based on what time of year you visit and the amount of guests waiting to visit with characters.  On occasion we had plenty of time with Mary, typically about 3 or 4 minutes, other times we only had enough time for a picture and an autograph.  If meeting Mary is a huge priority on your vacation, there are several other areas where you can meet her if you happen to not get enough time during your breakfast.  She can usually be found in the United Kingdom Pavilion located in World Showcase at Epcot, in Town Square or Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom.

Best wishes for a magical 1st Walt Disney World vacation and please let me know if you have anymore questions!
