    This is our first Disney trip, we are staying at POR from 6/24/13 - 7/2/13 (our kids are 8&9). We made reservations for Chef Mickey our first night and Whispering Canyon another night. How difficult is it to take the buses to other resorts for meals?

    Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    It is not that difficult, but it really depends on your personality.  It can take about an hour to go from Port Orleans Riverside to the Wilderness Lodge.  You first have to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take a bus or a boat to the Wilderness Lodge.  Buses and boats run about every twenty minutes; my hour estimate assumes you have to wait for the first bus. 

    It's a little faster to get to Chef Mickey's because you can just walk from the Magic Kingdom bus stop to the Contemporary in about 10 minutes; another option is to take the monorail from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary.

    In both cases above, you won't have to enter the theme park as the bus stop, the boat launch, and the monorail are all located outside the Magic Kingdom itself.  I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
