Hi Carrie!
While my boys aren't twins, I have two sons of my own, both right around your boys' age. We have taken several trips with them to Walt Disney World Resort, some of which we have used the
Park Hopper Option on our tickets and some where we had standard tickets. I think both options can work well for families of any ages, depending on your family's vacation style and your kids' needs and personalities.
When we were taking my sons' first trips, we chose not to hop parks during our vacation. We found that by planning to enjoy one theme park per day, we were able to explore the magic in each theme park without feeling rushed. It was nice to move a little bit slower around the park to enjoy the attractions and entertainment on our "must-do" list and take as many pictures as possible! Also, keep in mind that hopping between parks is a time commitment. So with my little ones with little legs, it isn't always an efficient use of time to move between theme parks.
We have also taken some trips with them using the Park Hopper Option. In my experience, if we are planning to enjoy multiple theme parks in one day with our little ones, there is really only time to hit the "must-do's" at each park and not much more. We aren't able to explore two entire theme parks in one day with our little ones. For times when we have a quick trip or want to enjoy our favorites one last time on the last day of our trip, the Park Hopper Option works out great!
For your boys' first trip, I would recommend that you would give them plenty of time in each theme park to enjoy the unique magic each park has to offer. Plus, this will save you a bit of money on your tickets that you can use for souvenEARs!
Be sure to pick up a complimentary First Visit button for your boys on the way into your first theme park. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
