First Disney trip scheduled Dec 20-23 with a 2 and 4 year old in tow with stroller. We are not staying at Disney resort. What is our best option for parking at magic kingdom and Epcot? Where do we book parking reservations and how much closer is preferred?

Hey there, Lina. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

It sounds like you have a fun few days coming up later this month! My family and I always visit the week of Christmas and it's such a great time. All of the theme parks are dressed up in their holiday best. It's so festive and fun.

Parking at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks is a breeze, Lina. For Magic Kingdom Park you are going to park at the Transportation & Ticket Center which is the parking lot for the theme park. The GPS will take you straight there if you type that in. Once you've paid and parked, you'll make your way to the front of the TTC. You'll go through security and then you can either take the boat or the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom Park. I think it can be fun to take one mode of transportation over and the other one back so you get the full experience. Parking at EPCOT is directly in front of the entrance. So you'll simply put EPCOT in your GPS and follow the directions. When you get closer, you'll see signs for parking.

Standard theme park parking at any park is $25.00 per day and preferred parking runs anywhere between $45.00 and $50.00 per day. Please keep in mind that prices are subject to change without warning. You are not able to reserve or prepay for parking so this will need to be something you do each day you visit the theme parks. Parking lots open about 45 minutes prior to the theme park's scheduled opening time. If you plan on park hopping, which is visiting multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day, save your receipt because you only need to pay for parking once per day and then it can follow you to the next theme park.

I hope this helps, Lina. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
