We are going on our first Disney cruise this May and wondering if there are gratuities we need to prepare apart from those on the FAQ. I hear the Kids Club has a gratuity per child who goes? How much would it be? Want to ensure we prepare properly. thanks!

    Hi there, Charissa Gloria!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  You must be getting excited for your upcoming adventure at sea!  You are just going to love your time aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship.  There are so many things to do and see and such incredible service all around, it’s just a wonderful experience!

You will be amazed at the service provided to you onboard; from your stateroom host/hostess to your dining room servers and everyone in between, everyone is committed to making this your best vacation ever.   Disney Cruise Line has a suggested gratuity amount that will go towards your stateroom host, your main dining room servers and the head server.  These Cast Members get to know you and your family and really work to make your trip comfortable and memorable for you.  You can prepay your gratuities by calling Disney Cruise Line or you can have them charged to your stateroom account.  You can also change the amount, if you feel the need to do so.  Automatic gratuities are added to any bar purchases as well as any spa or salon services you select, which will be charged to your stateroom account.  Tipping is optional for Room Service, so I always carry some small bills for that purpose as well.

There are no gratuities paid to the Youth Club counselors unless you have a child that will be visiting the “it’s a small world” nursery!, and that is just an hourly rate (currently $9/hour for the first child) which is added to your stateroom folio.

I hope you have a wonderful trip onboard and wish you many magical memories made!

    Happy Sailing!
