We are going on our first Disney cruise in May 2023. My son just turned 3 and we are working on potty training. If he is not fully potty trained by cruise time is he allowed in the nursery with his 1 year old sister?

Hi there, Melissa! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you thought to ask your question as you prepare for your very first Disney Cruise! I can't wait for you to step on board and step into a vacation filled with fun and magic.

If your son isn't potty trained by the time you sail, Hakuna Matata! The "it's a small world" nursery! is intended for little ones between 6 months and 3 years of age. As a first-time Disney Cruiser, you can make reservations in advance (recommended!) for the nursery 75 days before your sailing as long as your cruise fare is paid in full. Reservations for the nursery can also be made once onboard on a first-come, first-served basis. If your plans change, cancellations can be made without penalty as long as it is four hours or more before your scheduled reservation time.

I love to let families of little ones know that Disney's Oceaneer Club and Lab offer Open Houses throughout the cruise. This is a time when guests of all ages can enjoy the interactive youth spaces onboard. You can take your children inside to play and check out the fun activities within the Club or Lab as a family.

Disney Cruise Line wants the little ones and their parents onboard to receive the royal treatment. You can request high chairs in every restaurant, diaper disposal pails, bottle warmers, portable crib units, and more. Please take a look at the Traveling with Little Ones page on the Disney Cruise Line website for more helpful information.

Before you set sail, it's a great idea to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Once you are onboard the ship, the app will point your compass toward restaurant menus, daily activity schedules, deck plans, and more. Please cruise back to us if you have more questions, Melissa! My pals and I are here and so happy to help.

Have a magical adventure at sea!
