We are going on our first Disney Cruise this May. My question is should we pack our swim suits in a carry on or will our luggage arrive in room rather quickly? Also do you have any recommendations on other things needed before ship leaves port?

I'm so excited to hear that you'll be embarking on your first cruise with Disney Cruise Line!

If you plan on being at the port early and in one of the first boarding groups, then bring swim attire in your carry-on.

We don't usually swim right after boarding as we like to have lunch, settle in our stateroom, etc. Lots of passengers enjoy going directly to the pools and if it's a warm May day, a swim might be a refreshing way to start your voyage.

On all of our Disney cruises, including our Mediterranean voyage with DCL, we have always had our luggage in our room within three hours of boarding. During Bahamas and Caribbean cruises, our luggage has been delivered prior to the Adventures Away party.

Without a guarantee of luggage arrival time, you'll want to bring your travel documentation, medicines, sunscreen, swim wear and other items that you may not be able to live without for those first few hours. My most important item is a camera!
