My first Disney Cruise is in July! It is on the Disney Magic. 5-Night to Mexico and Castaway. It's the 25th Silver Anniversary, 4th of July, and pirate night. Which day is pirate night? How and when will they celebrate the other festivities?

    Ahoy Alyssa,

How exciting to be planning your first cruise with Disney Cruise Line! What a wonderful ship and itinerary you have chosen. The Disney Magic is one of the original ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and she is beautiful. I enjoy a wonderfully warm and sunny Western Caribbean itinerary as well. You mention visiting Castaway Cay, which is an absolute hidden paradise gem that only Disney Cruise Line guests can visit. Prepare for a day in a tropical paradise!

Based on the information in your question, I assume that you are going on the cruise that includes the Fourth of July. I called and checked in with a cast member at Disney Cruise Line about this sailing. She let me know that you can expect Pirate Night on your cruise on Wednesday, a more dressy attire night on Thursday, and the rest of the evenings are cruise casual in attire. Please know that all of these are optional - you do not have to dress like a pirate or dress up extra fancy; however, it is very fun to do so!

For July 4, the cast member informed me that you can expect experiences such as patriotic dinner offerings, red white and blue decorations on the ship, and characters in their patriotic costumes.

The Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings also promises festive activities! You may find Mickey and Minnie in their glittery silver costumes, as well as special desserts, cocktails, and merchandise for purchase. While the website does list that there will be an additional fireworks night for these cruises, the cast member I spoke with today informed me that the schedule for these is not yet available. I suggest that you call Disney Cruise Line as you get closer to your cruise to inquire if this schedule is yet available.

Please note that all entertainment and schedules listed above are subject to change. The best source of information will be once you board your ship. Be sure to have the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App ready to go. Once you are on board, this will be your best source for information on schedules and entertainment.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Alyssa! Have a wonderful time planning your magical cruise, and please feel free to sail back to planDisney if you have any further questions.
