Hi, Kristin!
About a month ago, my family and I sailed on the Disney Wonder to the Mexican Riviera, and as a surprise to my 11-year-old son, we booked the
Cabo Canopy Adventure for just the two of us. He is an adventuresome kind of guy, and a big guy for his age at 5' 3." He was the youngest guest in our group, and I started to worry whether he could hang with all the grown ups. As it turned out, he did fine, but at times, the course was challenging to him -- physically and mentally. The rock climbing was a bit more than we had anticipated. The guides were fantastic, and they were encouraging and helpful. Yet, I wondered if he wasn't able (or willing) to do some of the activities whether or not there was an alternative plan for him.
My recommendation is to read the Port Adventure description thoroughly. It's a fantastic opportunity, and I'm very thankful that we had that experience together. However, I was certainly glad that my 7-year-old son was
not there! You know your child best, and you'll make the best decision for your family. Yet, I wanted to make sure you were fully aware of the course before you booked.
Have you thought about the
Mexican Outback and the Camels? Or the
Cabo Dolphins? Or a beach getaway? Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
