Hiya, Ingrid!
Oh boy! I'm certain your first Disney Cruise Line vacation is going to be amazing. And I'm pleased to see that you are looking to add some personalized magic of your own to make your journey extra special. My family loves decorating our stateroom doors too. We bring decorations to highlight a seasonal or holiday celebration and our personalities. And, of course, we are always careful to avoid marring the painted surface of our door or being obtrusive to other Guests using the hallway, using only magnets to hang items.
From the description you give of your reserved stateroom, it appears you are looking forward to a magical cruise on the awesome Disney Adventure. As we "Dig a Little Deeper" into stateroom details, I'm going to start with information from my planDisney pal Adrianna. From her expert knowledge and experience, we get door size details about standard staterooms and Concierge staterooms on the Disney Adventure. I'll repeat some key details here.
- Standard Stateroom Doors
- 1,956 mm tall
- 711 mm wide
- Bottom of door to the bottom of the round room number plaque is 1,575 mm
- Top of door to the top of the room number plaque is about 203 mm
- Concierge Stateroom Doors
- 1970 mm tall
- 735-740 mm wide
- Bottom of door to the bottom of the round room number plaque is 1,570 mm
- Top of door to the top of the room number plaque is about 195 mm
With that baseline, let's consider differences related to accessible staterooms. The Accessible Deluxe Inside Staterooms on the Disney Adventure feature a larger door width that is at least 815 mm wide. However, note that those dimensions are approximate. Individual doors may vary somewhat. So if your vision expects edge-to-edge coverage, I recommend giving yourself some extra margin that you could maybe trim with a pair of safety scissors.
Tony's Tip: The safety scissors may come in handy in other situations. My family loves the activities onboard the Disney Cruise Line. We especially enjoy animation classes, trivia, and crafts. When we are on vacation, we also like to take it easy and not rush things so much. We have begun packing a small crafting kit, including markers, crayons, glue, and safety scissors. So even if we don't finish up a particular art project at one of the scheduled activities, we can more easily finish up the artwork later in our stateroom with our own supplies.
Have a most magical cruise, Ingrid!
