We are going on our first Disney Cruise in a couple of weeks - the Disney Fantasy 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise departing on 3/19/22. Can you tell me if there will be formal/semi-formal nights and a pirate night (and which nights)?

Ahoy there, Anne, and welcome aboard planDisney! Wow, it looks like you and your crew are just a few sleeps away from embarkation day - how exciting! I sure hope you've started packing, or at least have taken a look at the packing lists suggested by Disney Cruise Line! Oh, you've been waiting for your question to be answered to pack? Well we'd better get a move on then!

One of my favorite things about Disney Cruise Line is how the Dress Code is designed to let each castaway determine what will work best for them! That said, as you know there are suggested themes for certain nights should you and your crew choose to participate!

Your first night is usually cruise casual as you settle-in to your vacation, so get ready to kick back, relax and meet your incredible Main Dining Room crew members who will be with you throughout your entire Rotational Dining experience! From there, you and your crew can usually count on the following theme nights:

    • One Pirate Night
    • Three additional cruise casual nights
    • One formal and one semi-formal night - each gives you the opportunity to dress-up if you so choose, and take advantage of the onboard photography services!
Now, other than your first night being cruise casual, the order of your themed nights will be available to view in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you board, so I'm afraid I don't have insight into the specific schedule. What I CAN tell you is that in the past, Pirate Night has coincided with either a sea day or the night you depart Disney Castaway Cay - so you'll have to sail back my way and let me know if that's still the case!

Now that you know which nights to expect, hopefully, it will help you and your crew get packing...literally! I'm sure you all will have a fantastic time on your cruise, Anne! As a fellow Midwesterner, I'm thrilled you'll be leaving the wacky weather we've had over the past few months for a week in the relatively predictable Eastern Caribbean!

Thank you so much for sailing our way with your question, Anne! If you and your crew come up with any last-minute questions before you head to Port Canaveral, you know where to find us here at planDisney - we'll be on the lookout for seagulls bearing messages!

I wish you fair winds and following seas!
