First dis vaca w/ twin 5 yr old boys. Having trouble deciding which hotel. The Beach Club looks great but so does the Carribean Beach. The price difference is significant. Is it worth spending the xtra for the Beach Club or will Carib be big enough?

    Hi Michael!

There are so many great resorts to choose from when planning your Disney vacation, I can see how you'd have trouble deciding!

The main thing I always tell people to consider when choosing a resort is how much time you think you'll spend there. If you plan to spend all day at the parks and only sleep and shower at your resort, then it probably doesn't make sense to spend the extra money on a deluxe resort. If you will be spending time lounging in your room or swimming in the resort pool, then you may want to consider splurging on the Beach Club.

The pool at the Beach Club - Stormalong Bay - is in my opinion the absolute best pool on Disney property. It is huge with a sand bottom, whirlpools, pool slide and a sand dune area where kids can play in the sand. There are daily activities and games offered daily at the pool. You can get a schedule of events upon check-in. In addition to the pool there are a number of restaurants to choose from at the Beach Club and the nearby Yacht Club and Boardwalk resorts. Epcot is within walking distance and you can either walk or take a boat to the Hollywood Studios. If the Beach Club fits within your budget comfortably then I would definitely recommend staying here if you plan to take advantage of all the amenities offered.

On the other hand, the Caribbean Beach has been recently renovated and the main pool area has also gone under a makeover. There is a children's water play area located by the main pool which has a pirate ship that spills water on the kids every few minutes. If your boys are pirate lovers, they may enjoy staying in one of the new pirate themed rooms. I had a chance to check these new rooms out and they are fabulously themed with pirate ship beds, "wood plank" carpeting and lots of other great pirate touches.

I'm sure whichever resort you choose you will have a magical vacation! Have fun planning!
