Hi! My first DCL holiday will be the Disney Dream, British Isles from Southampton, 10-17 September 2023? Are there any special-themed evening events scheduled for this sailing? I'd like to know if I'll need any specific attire! Thank you.

    Welcome aboard, Laura!

How exciting to be looking ahead to your first Disney Cruise Line vacation! I’m thrilled for your family to experience everything that’s included in this incredible experience. The Disney Dream is absolutely glorious, and this British Isles itinerary is one of my bucket list destinations, too. I’m happy to share the details of your special evenings so you can begin planning your adventure in more detail.

While entertainment is subject to change, the following special evenings are planned for your 7-Night Silver Anniversary at Sea sailing leaving September 10, 2023 from Southhampton:

    • Monday, At Sea, Formal Night
    • Friday, Cork, Semi-Formal Night

All other evenings are designated as Cruise Casual attire. You will see these plans confirmed in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once you have boarded the Disney Dream and flip into “onboard mode.”

While special attire is never required (it is up to your family’s comfort level) here are some attire guidelines for your planning. My family adores dressing up on a cruise, as we don’t often have the opportunity to be well put together and take some nice family photos! It also has an air of a bygone era, with high fashion on the high seas! If you plan to reserve a special brunch or dinner at adults-exclusive Palo or Remy, please know these venues do have a dress code for their special meals.

This summer, Disney Cruise Line is celebrating 25 years at sea and yours is also a Silver Anniversary at Sea sailing! This celebration will include special merchandise, treats, entertainment, and our Disney pals in all-new shimmering outfits created just for this occasion. Your sailing will also include a special anniversary toast with the ship’s Captain and Cruise Director and there are bound to be even more surprises in store for you once onboard!

As a first-time Disney cruiser, you will magically be enrolled in the coveted Castaway Club once you debark the ship on that sad last day. From there, you will be assigned a Castaway Club membership number within your Disney account and enjoy the special benefits when you sail with Disney again.

Please let us know how else we can help you make the most of this special vacation, Laura! We’d love to share more tips or insights to help you navigate this wonderful first-time experience onboard.

    Wishing you a magical cruise,
    Amy
