First DCL cruise on Dream in 3 weeks! Does the ship dock or tender at Castaway Cay & is it practical to take our stroller off the ship w/us? We have a 2 yo and 8 mo old. If I carry the 8 mo old, is it a long walk to the beach/lawn chairs from the pi

    Hi Kelly!

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney Dream cruise!  You are going to have the best time ever, and you may as well get ready to be spoiled rotten by the incredible service you are about to encounter.

Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Line's own private island.  The ship will dock when it arrives.  The ground is paved from the ship to the very opposite end of the island so you would feasibly be able to push a stroller on that, but not on the sand to get to the ocean.  The walk is not long to the family beach, and if you are going to explore other parts of Castaway Cay there are trams that you can ride so you don't have to walk the distance.

Try to get off the ship early so you can grab a really good spot with lounge chairs and umbrellas.  The umbrella spots are the first ones that are taken, and I want to make sure that you get one because of the baby.

Have a wonderful time on your sailing!  Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.  Bon voyage Kelly!
