HI Aimee,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel – it’s so nice to hear from you again. How exciting that you’ll be starting your new year off in the most magical style with a visit to Walt Disney World! I can’t think of a better way to kick off a brand new year.
While I can’t get Santa Goofy and his holiday pals to confirm the actual date that the holiday decorations will come down in Magic Kingdom Park, I can tell you that in the past, they have been up for at least the first week of January, and usually until the conclusion of Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. 2019’s Marathon Weekend is January 9-13, so I have a very good feeling that you’ll be able to see the gorgeous holiday lights adorning Cinderella Castle.
I encourage you to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for news about special treats, entertainment, and activities around the parks and resorts to ring in the new year. If you’ll be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, stop at the front desk for a Recreation Guide so you’ll know what fun things are going on around the resort. Make sure to stop at your resort’s Quick-Service Restaurant for a peek into the bakery case, as Disney has started offering exclusive cupcakes and other treats at several of the resorts – I had a scrumptious banana split cupcake at Disney’s Pop Century Resort last weekend, and it was both beautiful and super tasty.
Wishing you a wonderful
New Year’s trip to Walt Disney World, and a magical vacation,
Robyn
