The first day of our first family trip to Disney (girls ages 7, 3 and 10 months) will be at the Magic Kingdom following a very early morning flight. As we will be tired, where do you suggest we plan to eat for dinner?

Hello Rachel.  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  The arrival day of vacation can be a tiring one for sure.  We normally skip a park visit that day and enjoy the resort or head to Downtown Disney.

If you are looking for something simple, like a Quick Service Meal, I would recommend grabbing something while you are at Magic Kingdom or heading back to your resort and enjoying a dinner at the food court.  The travel day is very long and by dinner time younger children may have a hard time sitting through a long sit down meal.  Casey's Corner at Magic Kingdom is a great place to grab a hot dog and relax in the evening.  Kids especially love the corn dog nuggets and cotton candy there, I know my daughter does!  If you are leaning toward a Table Service Meal, I highly recommend trying to get a reservation for dinner at 'Ohana.  'Ohana is just a short monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom Park at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  The meal is all-you-care-to-enjoy chicken, pork and shrimp all cooked in the middle of the restaurant on a wood fire grill.  While you are dining, you can enjoy dining room entertainment like coconut races, hula dancing and even the limbo. This is a family favorite meal for us, we try to eat here 2 times during our Walt Disney World vacations

I know it is very easy to try to cram every little thing in on a Walt Disney World vacation, but sometimes a slower pace is much more fun.  If it were me, I wouldn't worry about a sit down meal on the first night.  I would rather grab something  quick and easy and then head back to the resort to try to get a good night's rest.  That first night can really set the tone for the rest of your vacation.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me.  Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
