our first day arriving at Disney World. Our flight scheduled arrival 1:30 p.m. and daughter & family is scheduled to arrive around 2:30 p.m. Haven't scheduled much of anything for the rest of the day. Thoughts/suggestions

    Hi Judy!

Welcome BACK to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is right around the corner - are you getting so excited???

Your family is going to have so much fun, starting with the day of your arrival. My own family has a tradition of going to Disney Springs as soon as we check in to our hotel. Shopping, bowling, an awesome dine-in movie theater, and a ton of restaurants. And we always have to get a Mickey shaped treat at Goofy's Candy Kitchen. Disney transportation will take your whole party from your resort hotel to Disney Spring until 1 A.M. and bring you back home as late as 2 A.M. And bonus, there's even a water taxi from your hotel, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, that goes directly to Disney Springs.

You're also more than welcome to visit other Disney Resort Hotels to enjoy their restaurants, shops and views. You can take a resort bus to either the Ticket and Transportation Center or to Magic Kingdom park where you can jump on the Monorail to visit Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. You can even watch Magic Kingdom Park's fireworks from these resort hotel beaches.

Don't forget about the amenities at your own resort hotel. Swimming, horse-drawn carriage rides, restaurants, movies under the stars, bike rentals, even a bring-your-own-S'mores stuff campfire. And the best part about your resort hotel is that you're welcome to pool hop to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter! These two resort hotels are about a 15 minute walk along a paved path, or you may take the water taxi from one to the other.

I know you're going to have so much fun no matter what you decide to do. We'll See You Real Soon, Judy!
