On our first day arrival, we have 4-5 hours in late afternoon before we have dinner at the California Grill at 9:10 pm to dine and watch the fireworks? What would you suggest we do to introduce our 6 yr old granddaughter on her first visit to Disney World?

    Hey there Don!

It sounds like you've got a great plan already with the dinner reservation at California Grill (one of my favorites) and Wishes™ Nighttime Spectacular viewing! I myself, would go with the flow and see how your granddaughter is doing when she arrives at the resort. She may want to just hang out by the pool to go swimming or take a nap. I know my soon to be six year old son would want to explore his surroundings.

The ultimate would be to head over to the Magic Kingdom and stroll through the streets letting her take in the Disney atmosphere. I wouldn't try to hit any major rides just the ones with small lines. Then, give yourself plenty of time to head on over to California Grill by foot, ship, or monorail. I hope you and your Granddaughter have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel if you have more questions, I'm always here to help!
