This will be our first cruise trip. We're going on the 3-night Bahamian cruise on Disney Dream in August. Are we required to wear formal for dining? Do we need to pre-book activities on the cruise? What time are we allowed to board the ship?

    Hi there, Mai!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited to “sea” that you have your FIRST Disney Cruise Line vacation planned!  You are going to have the most magical time aboard the Disney Dream, and I can bet you will won’t want your adventure to end!  When that happens, be sure to visit the Future Cruise Desk on Deck 4 to book your NEXT Disney Cruise Line vacation and reset your Cruise Countdown Clock!

During your three-night voyage, you will have one cruise casual night, one Pirate Night and one optional dress-up night!  So, no need to pack the formal wear and if it makes more sense for you to wear cruise casual for the dress-up night, go for it!  But I do recommend dressing up for Pirate Night, a fun and exciting night capped off with an incredible firework display during the evening’s deck party!

Make sure you mark your calendar for 75-days prior to your voyage.  On this date, you will be able to log-into your “My Reservations” account and complete your Online Check-In and reserve onboard activities or excursions.  It is not necessary to pre-book anything, but if you don’t, the opportunity may not be there once you get onboard.  Some of these activities that I highly recommend booking ahead of time include: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeovers, adult-exclusive dining reservations and Port Adventures!  When you complete your Online Check-In, you will select a Port Arrival Time and that is when you will want to plan to arrive at Port Canaveral for check-in on embarkation day.  Once you arrive at the port for check-in, you will receive a boarding card with a number on it.  Once they begin inviting Guests onboard (typically around 11:30AM), you will wait until your boarding group is called before you embark on your adventure with Captain Mickey!

As you continue preparing for your voyage, please come back with any other questions you may have!
