Hi Bradley!
I am so glad you stopped by with your question about your quickly approaching Disney Cruise Line vacation! Now that you’ve been able to complete your Online Check-In and book some onboard activities, you are set! All you have to do now is wait (oh and pack…but that can probably wait a bit longer) and before you know it, it will be VACATION time!!
I absolutely love itineraries that stop at
Castaway Cay and always look forward to a beach day there! Crystal clear water, soft beaches and lots of fun to be had – it makes for a perfect day! And the best part is that the beach is SO CLOSE to the ship! It’s just a short tram ride or walk from the ship to the Castaway Family Beach which is so convenient if you need to go back to the ship during the day! In our case being close is always helpful when someone forgets their hat or goggles or sand bucket and MUST have it for the day! While there is a variety of scheduled activities and lunch at Cookie’s BBQ on the island, sometimes there is something you want to do or see back on the ship so being able to go back and forth as needed is convenient.
Currently your itinerary shows your “All Ashore” on your day at Castaway Cay, but please note that could change! Characters will be on Castaway Cay throughout the day and will have scheduled appearance times; check the Personal Navigator or the Navigator app for those times. It is very likely that you will be able to both see characters and go to your scheduled Princess Gathering onboard. If you want to get a family picture with the ship in the background, those are usually done early in the day as Guests disembark so you may want to disembark to make sure you get that memorable photo!
Wishing you a pixie-dust filled voyage!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
