First Cruise in June! Super excited! Total party of 12, is there really a chance for us to get the family cabana at Castaway Cay, being this is our first cruise? Also we stop on the island twice? So either day we would be ok with...Thoughts?

    Ahoy, Earlee!

First of all, I'm so excited for you - the Castaway Cay Double Dip cruise is my favorite itinerary we've ever sailed. You're going to love it! Disney's private island is the most gorgeous place, sprinkled from end to end with Disney magic. It's definitely my happy place!

The private cabanas on the island are the ultimate in luxury, and are located along the Family Beach and Serenity Bay. Cabana guests are provided beach chairs and a hammock, and a fridge stocked with water and soda. Cabana attendants are on hand to assist guests with anything they may need during the day - it's complete bliss. Since there's a limited number of these amazing cabanas, they are a tough reservation to get, and they book very quickly. Platinum Castaway Club members and Concierge guests are some of the first to reserve the cabanas, as they're able to make reservations up to 120 days in advance. Guests may have better luck reserving a cabana on the Double Dip cruise, with two days to choose from.

If you're unable to reserve a cabana before your cruise, I encourage you to stop by the Port Adventures desk on embarkation day and ask about availability. Reservations can be canceled up to three days before your sail date, so it's possible one may become available before your cruise. We were able to reserve a cabana on our last cruise on embarkation day due to a cancellation, so I know it can happen!

With or without a cabana, there are plenty of lovely areas all over the island to enjoy. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided free of charge, and a delicious lunch is included at Cookie's BBQ and Cookie's Too! If there are adventurous kids in your sailing party, I recommend a spot on the beach near Pelican Plunge - it's an awesome floating water playground with slides - my kids can't get enough of it!

    Have a magical day! - Diane W.
