Hi I am going on my first cruise ever & we picked Disney of course. My 7 year old daughter should love it, but what should we expect? We worry about her not wanting to go & play by herself & how to hang out as a couply for a little?

    Hi Lisa!

Thank you for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question. Booking your first cruise ever is a pretty exciting moment! Your choice to go on the Disney Cruise is an awesome decision, and I bet you and your family will have a fabulous time. Everyone gets those first time jitters on what to expect -- but it's almost guaranteed, that you'll likely want to book your next cruise even before your disembark.

As with any brand new experience, you've got the exciting unknown to look forward to. What you can expect is high quality service and world class family friendly entertainment from the minute you step onto the port premises to check-in for your cruise. You and your family will walk through the gangway, and onto the ship's gorgeous atrium to hear your family name announced on the loud speaker. Cast members welcome you and share a vibrant chEAR, as you are welcomed onto the ship. You have arrived - and the magic has begun!

As you and your princess walk towards the Youth Clubs, you will be greeted by warm smiles and a hearty welcome by the wonderful youth counselors at the Oceaneer Club & Lab. Have your daughter 'wash her hands' in the awesome 'magical sink'... Disney Cruise is pretty serious about cleanliness! You might want to try it too :-) My kids end up washing their hands well over 2 minutes in that wonderful contraption! It will be Open House the day of embarkation, so feel free to spend some time in each themed space in the lab. It is amazing how the rooms have brought our favorite Disney stories to life...  and you're in it now! I love watching the kids' expressions as they walk into Andy's Room & see all the friends there; or walk around Pixie Hollow; you can take the time to speak with the counselors too - they're a pretty awesome bunch. They have that special gift of engaging kids! She'll have loads of fun in there, so you can enjoy some couple bonding time too! There's so much to see & do! You will have a blast!
