We are going on our first cruise on the Disney Dream March 17th - 20th. When coming back into port it says we arrive about 7:30am. About how long does it take to deboard? We have a long drive that day and are trying to plan accordingly for hotels.

    Hi, Samantha!

Congratulations on your first cruise aboard the Disney Dream -- it will definitely be difficult to "wake up" from this Dream on your last morning aboard! Yet, like most good things, it must come to an end, and there are some things you can do to expedite the process and help you get on your way and on the road:

    1. Watch the disembarkation presentation, which is usually held on the last night of the cruise in the Walt Disney Theater. A recording also is shown repetitively throughout the evening on your stateroom TV.
    2. Fill out your customs form/survey and distribute tip envelopes to your servers/hosts on the last night instead of waiting until morning. Your stateroom host will drop off this paperwork on the last evening.
    3. Take advantage of Disney's luggage service. While you can take your luggage off the ship yourself, it's much easier to let Disney Cruise Line handle the job. If you pack your bags and put them outside of your stateroom on the last night, along with the special tags provided by your stateroom host, porters will take them to the terminal.
    4. Leave the ship at whatever time you prefer. Once the ship is cleared by US Customs, you can leave whenever you choose as long as you're off the ship by 9 a.m.
    5. Look for your luggage in the assigned area of the terminal building. You will receive tags the night before, marked with a specific color and Disney character. The next morning, your bags will be in the corresponding area. As a US citizen, the Customs line will be long but usually moves quickly.

The entire process from the time you leave the ship until you are packed up in your car should take approximately an hour -- depending on what time you leave and how many other guests decide to leave at the same time. I hope this helps.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
