This is my first cruise with Disney! I have been to Disney World. Do I have a Castaway Club ID? I want to purchase a DisneyBand +. Thank You

Hi there, Barbara! Welcome to planDisney!

I’d also like to give you a very special welcome to planning your first Disney cruise! It’s so exciting planning this magical adventure, though I know from experience that there must be so many questions rolling around in your head. So let’s get to tackling this one!

It’s awesome that you’ve already visited Walt Disney World Resort, so you’re familiar with the heartwarming Disney magic! Similarly, many sweet and fun moments will happen on board your Disney cruise, and my best suggestion is to always have your cell phone or a camera nearby, because you never know what (or which Disney Pal!) is right down the hall!

Another thing that’s the same about the Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line is that they use the same My Disney Account. Through your My Disney Account on the Disney Cruise Line website, you will be able to access your cruise reservation. This is where you can also purchase DisneyBand+. You can purchase them on the Disney Cruise Line website by clicking “Already Booked”, and then scrolling down to “DisneyBand+ & More” where you will see the purchase options. If you already use a MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort, it will also work as a DisneyBand+ on board your Disney cruise.

You can also access your reservation in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App by entering the reservation number, birth date, and your last name in order to find it. Downloading it is the next step I recommend you take, because it’s going to be your virtual Disney cruise planning desk, especially when it comes time to book those exciting onboard activities

You’re not assigned a Castaway Club Member ID until after your first sailing is complete. Think of it like a gift that Disney Cruise Line has waiting for you upon your return, to officially welcome you into the club!

Another suggestion that I have while you’re planning your cruise (besides heading over here to planDisney, of course!) is if you’re ever wondering, “what now?”, while planning, open up the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App and tap “Next Steps”. There, you will be guided towards the next steps you should take to plan your cruise, such as booking Ground Transportation, adding special requests, etc.

Barbara, I hope you found this helpful. I wish you heaps of beautiful memories on board your cruise! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.

    Bon Voyage,
    Rana
